Civil Legal Aid Changes Lives

Expanding the circles of fairness.

There is no replacement for civil legal aid. It changes lives. And, it sometimes saves them. Your gift helped create those possibilities for Maine people facing civil legal issues, thousands of times. The six providers handled 15,373 Cases in 2023 alone.

Contributions to the Campaign for Justice provide flexible funding for providers to address emergent matters and basic civil legal matters including:  
*Preventing homelessness and improving housing stability 
*Helping Mainers access income and improve financial stability 
*Keeping people employed fairly 
*Protecting the educational rights of children 
*Representing persons experiencing domestic and sexual violence. 
*Protecting Maine elders against fraud and abuse 
*Securing essential health care benefits and services 
*Helping families, students, and workers navigate immigration laws 
*Giving voice to Maine people with low incomes in public policy discussions 
*Upholding the rights and duties fundamental to the health of our democracy 

Indeed, there is no replacement for civil legal aid.
